Yeni Mahalle Höyüğü

Overview

A Neolithic settlement buried beneath the Yeni Mahalle quarter just north of Balıklıgöl, in the protected old city. Urfa Man, the oldest known life-sized human statue, came to light here during roadworks in 1993; it is displayed in the Şanlıurfa Archaeology Museum.
